Here's another tag-team set. The "mod" fabric (dunno if it really is mod or not, thus the quotes) is from a booksleeve. These were almost a disaster, and the white suit's straps aren't quite right. I am pleased with the red one- it's almost exactly what I want (I will likely never be 100% happy with my work).
Electra and Aurora are our models for this one. Electra is as-is: head on a 2.0 body. Aurora came recently thanks to Haz- she's stock too. I love that sculpt- If the other Cool Girls are mostly 22-23, Aurora's 25 or 26. She looks a little more world-weary, but she is still pretty.
In my story setting, here is the background of the Mod Bods:
The original Mod Bods were a highly successful tag team in the early 70's. Their in-ring antics delighted fans and irritated opponents. At first, their playful, non-hostile ring demeanor seemed out of place with a sport* that involves a lot of violent activity, but they proved that while they might kid around in the ring, they were all business, duping many a foe into letting their guard down.
The Bods preferred to rely on technical and high-flying maneuvers to dazzle and disorient opponents, rarely even throwing a closed fist. Despite their general lack of bloodthirst and brutality, their methods are backed up by several tag title reigns.
Now the daughter of one of the original Mod Bods is considering bringing a new version back to the squared circle. Tired of the crash TV, sex-and-blood-laden shows that pass for "wrestling" in the modern business, she is hoping to bring the pure athleticism and prowess she watched her mother display back to wrestling. She has seen glimpses of this spirit in Japan, Mexico, and other tiny feds in the US- 'now,' she thinks, 'is the time to bring real wrestling back to prominence.' The beauty of a female wrestler is a useful tool to get someone in the door, but amazing athletic feats and compelling matches will keep them watching.
Electra and Aurora model suits made out of a mod booksleeve print.
Now they are modeling basic white and red suits, respectively.
Nope, they are the same suits both times.
Here are some more angle shots, so you can see both the suit detail
The more I look at these two, the more prominent I want this team to be in my stories.
I like seeing old-school tag teams that simply out-wrestle their opponents on TV. The creative teams at WWE seem to have mostly forgotten that. They have (and have had) a ton of great technical guys that are capable of awesome tag matches. Kendrick and London are finally coming into their own, but they could easily have 5 or 6 teams on Smackdown capable of putting them through the ringer and putting on awesome matches.
TNA tag matches tend to be better for this, especially if all of the guys involved are in the X-Division. Pure high-flying insanity, and barely any rest holds or lame "brawling."

(I will likely be selling these, but it will be kinda hard. I really like the way they turned out. The Mod Bods' background will hopefully add some more flavor to things. --K).
